Information: COVID-19 and ERS events

During these challenging times of COVID-19, the European Respiratory Society (ERS) has remained committed to providing education and learning opportunities for our members and colleagues, as improving clinical care is essential in achieving our mission of alleviating suffering from lung disease.

We are monitoring the COVID-19 situation very closely and due to ongoing infection control measures and travel restrictions, several upcoming courses and events have been affected.

It has been possible for ERS to adapt some activities so that they may be delivered using a fully virtual format. Where applicable, all participants have been contacted by ERS and informed of the relevant changes.

In addition, when the outbreak situation improves and it is safe to conduct onsite events, ERS plans to reschedule other activities that cannot be adapted to a virtual format. In all cases participants have been contacted by ERS, informed of the relevant changes and advised on what actions to take.

At all future ERS events that can take place onsite, the following health and safety measures will be in place:

  • Delegates and speakers from countries with an active outbreak are asked not to attend any upcoming events. Alternative online options will be offered where possible.
  • Infection control measures will be implemented at each of our upcoming events in-keeping with WHO recommendations.

This situation will be continually assessed and ERS will apply all necessary precautions moving forward. Individuals are advised to consult the courses list for the latest details on upcoming activities.

If you have any further queries about an upcoming event, please contact: registration@ersnet.org
