HERMES Diplomates will be assembling for their annual get-together on 21 September in Barcelona during the ERS Annual Congress. They will be joined by members of the HERMES Task Force.

HERMES Diplomates are the candidates awarded the European Diploma following their success in the European Examination in Adult Respiratory Medicine. In addition, the members of the HERMES Task Force will be honoured for their work in developing the standards—syllabus, curriculum, examination, accreditation—that constitute the basis of the HERMES initiative.

Task Force members pioneered the HERMES project and paved the way for other HERMES projects such as the Paediatric HERMES with their new curriculum. The inaugural European examination in paediatric respiratory medicine will take place in Amsterdam in 2011.

Work is ongoing on other HERMES projects such as the training programme of the  European Spirometry Driving Licence, and syllabuses of the HERMES Critical Care and HERMES Sleep.

The HERMES event, the Diplomates’ Cocktail, will take place on 21 September from 17:00 to 19:00.
