    The Adult Summer School is intended to provide a comprehensive overview of each of the major fields of respiratory medicine based on the HERMES syllabus. This course will help participants prepare for the European examination in adult respiratory medicine. The programme is designed to challenge participants and provide a learning framework including interactive sessions and MCQ discussion sessions.

    This course has been granted 20 CME credits by the European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (EACCME). The number of credits that you will receive corresponds to your attendance during the course. Please note that you need to sign the register of attendance each day to ensure that you receive the CME credits.

    • Respiratory infections and TB
    • Pleural, mediastinal and chest wall diseases
    • Thoracic tumours
    • Airway diseases
    • Pulmonary vascular diseases

    • Sleep-related disorders

    COURSE FORMAT

    The course is delivered through different media including lectures, workshops and case based discussions. Sessions will be dedicated to the discussion and preparation of MCQ’s.

    • The HERMES syllabus modules
    • Best practice in how to prepare for the European examination in adult respiratory medicine
    • How to answer MCQ questions

    EDUCATIONAL MATERIALS

    A copy of the educational slides will be provided electronically prior to the course taking place. Educational materials distributed onsite, include the ERS Handbooks of Respiratory Medicine and Self-Assessment in Respiratory Medicine which contains the examination blueprint.

    Junior ERS Members 500
    All health care specialists under 35-year-old at the time of registration including Non-ERS
    ERS Members 600
    A person who is an ERS Member at the time of registration
    Non-ERS Members 700
    A person without an ERS-Membership at the time of registration
    Industry 1,100
    A representative of any medical business company at the time of registration

    Early bird registration deadline: €50 discount on registrations made before 13 March 2016.

    CANCELLATION POLICY

    Upon receipt of a written cancellation, a refund of fees minus €50 administrative fee will be applied up to 6 weeks before the course. After this date no refund will be made for cancellations.

    BURSARY APPLICATION

    A limited number of bursaries are available which provide either full financial support to attend the course or cover the cost of the registration fee. To be eligible to apply you must be:

    Selection from the pool of applicants will be made by the organising committee based on the submission of:

    • Curriculum vitae
    • A one-page personal statement explaining how you would apply the knowledge gained from this course.

    Applications must be submitted through the registration process, in the MyERS portal

    Deadline for applications for bursaries: 6 March 2016.
    Notification of selection results: 4 April 2016.
