AIMS OF THE COURSE

• To understand the processes of diagnosis and management of the various pulmonary vascular conditions. 
• To discuss diagnostic techniques and new treatment modalities, so that the physician will feel competent to manage their patients in association with their Pulmonary Hypertension Centre.

COURSE GOALS

• Understand the diagnostic processes leading to a diagnosis of pulmonary hypertension/embolism to be able to initiate appropriate investigations
• Understand the pathogenesis of the condition
• Understand the basis behind modern treatment of pulmonary hypertension and pulmonary thromboembolism.

This event has been granted 15 European CME credits (ECMEC) by the European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (EACCME).

BURSARIES (AVAILABLE TO ERS MEMBERS ONLY)

A limited number of bursaries, covering either full attendance or registration only will be available to selected applicants.  To be eligible to apply you must be:

• Under 40 years of age,
• A member of the ERS
• From a country with a GNP of below USD 10,000 (Bursary Eligible Countries)

Selection from the pool of applicants will be made by the organising committee based on the submission of:

• Curriculum vitae
• A one-page personal statement explaining how you would apply the knowledge gained from this course.

The deadline for applications for bursaries is 13 April 2012. Applicants will be notified of selection results by 30 April 2012.

CANCELLATION POLICY

Please note, as many doctors will be on the waiting list we cannot accept any cancellation of participation at the last minute. Therefore, there will be no reimbursement if cancellation occurs within 4 weeks preceding the course. Thank you for your understanding
